What is RKB?

RKB Design and Remodeling started in 1982 as a simple two man store providing kitchen and bath design and remodeling to the greater Flint area (Burton, Grand Blanc, Fenton, Swartz Creek, Davison, Clio, Mt Morris, Flushing, Goodrich, Ortenville, Durand, Linden). The two people starting this business was Stephen (Steve) Allen and Ron Polsgrove. Steve brought in design expertise as a CKD (Certified Kitchen Designer) which takes specialized training, and Ron came with project management experience in home construction. They decided to call the business Ron’s Kitchens and Baths, but in hind sight, they probably should have called it Ron and Steve’s Kitchens and Baths if they were going to just use a naming system. Although, maybe they did and thought it was too long with too many and’s.

As many years went by providing new home and remodeling services with much praise and recognition from customers and industry peers alike, it was decided to move away from the “mom and pop” name for the business to give it a more modern business image. Thus, Ron’s Kitchens and Baths (R.K.B.) became RKB Design and Remodeling to better help define that we do both new home design as well as remodeling projects for more than just kitchens and baths since we also deal in professional office setups, dens, laundry, closets and anything else that needs our expertise in specialized interior space planning.

While our name has gotten a more modernized update, we still hold true to our original concepts, and that shows in our reputation as being the most professional design business in Genesee, Lapeer counties, as well as all of Michigan and beyond. We have expanded our work to just about everywhere in Michigan, and we even have done projects all over places in the US like Las Vegas, New York, Florida, and many other states from people who have worked with Steve and loves what RKB has done for them in the past even though they moved to new locations.

So, that is what RKB was, is, and what it can also do for you in the future.
